LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – How do you number an annual event when you have to cancel because of a disaster?

On consulting many opinions on the Internet, Toy Farmer has decided to call this year’s show the “The 35th/36th Annual North Dakota Farm Toy Show.” The event which is usually referred to by locals as just the “Toy Farmer Show” has been held in LaMoure, N. Dak. on Father’s Day weekend since its inception in 1986.

This year’s show will once again be at the LaMoure School. More toy venders will be here than in recent years and will be set up in both gyms. The craft show is a little smaller this year but there are some quality crafters returning and some new ones coming for the first time.

Exhibitors will be arriving on Friday to begin setting up. At 6:00 p.m. The annual collector’s social will be held in the school cafeteria. This is usually attended by most of the vendors but anyone who is a toy collector, or a friend of the Toy Farmer is welcome to attend. This year’s main offering at this social will be smoked shredded beef sandwiches, with the meat prepared by LaMoure Lockers.

Show hours on Saturday are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The pedal pull will begin at 1:00 p.m. This popular event is being sponsored this year by Green Iron Equipment, Titan Machinery and Toy Farmer, all of LaMoure. The LaMoure Lion’s chicken barbecue in Sunset Park will again be part of the weekend’s activities and the annual toy auction by Tom Cornwell Auctions will begin at 6:00 p.m. this year at the American Legion Hall. Toy Farmer will again be donating the proceeds from some special tractors sold at this auction to local youth related organizations.

Sunday the show runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The weekend events end with a fun activity, an old time tractor pull. For this event information call: Mike Larson, (701) 361-9520. For any other show related questions call Toy Farmer, (701) 883-5206.
