By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Yesterday, the Chief of Taiwan Technical Mission in Belize, Robert Pan, and the President of the Rotary Club, Katherine Meighan signed 2 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance women’s empowerment in Belize.
Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize Ambassador David Kuan-Chou Chien and CEO in the office of the Prime Minister, Narda Garcia witnessed the signing.
The project is entitled “Taiwan Belize Women Empowerment Project”.
The initiative programs from Rotary Club are“Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs in Belize” and “Let Girls Learn Belize”, which in collaboration with Love Foundation, will provide 25 female entrepreneurs and 100 young girls with the opportunity to learn and enrich their lives.
Ambassador Chien and CEO Narda Garcia emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment and reiterated the genuine and ever-lasting friendship between Belize and Taiwan.
“The Embassy will continue to cooperate with the Government of Belize to promote women’s capacity building in Belize and to enhance the benefits of our two peoples,” the Taiwan Embassy in Belize said.
